Solid great advice from a master filmmaker not trained in filmmaking by a film school. Worth watching. The deadline for submissions for the DIY Film Festival is fast approaching, so if you want your film to be considered, please click on the withoutabox link! Thanks.
Christopher Nolan Master Class: How to Direct Your First Feature Film
Christopher Nolan Master Class: How to Direct Your First Feature Film
Christopher Nolan is by far one of the greatest directors of his generation. His ability to dance between an indie film mindset and major world-wide blockbuster is extremely rare these days.
From his small independent film The Following and the indie film masterpiece Memento to his international blockbusters Inception and the Dark Knight Trilogy his is a very interesting case study.
I have spoken to people who work with him on the backlot of Warner Brothers and it’s known that Christopher Nolan does not read email or even has a cell phone. He says:
“I’d rather spend my time working on my films.”
That shows you the man’s dedication to his craft.
If more Hollywood directors would worry more about how to make their film projects better and actually work on their craft it would be a very different cinematic landscape.
